1. Outline shape with Backstitch using 2 strands of thread. Tip: Start in the middle and work outwards to fill the shape.

2. Work subsequent Straight Stitches from below the previous row and inserting the needle in between 2 stitches or piercing through. A-B. Tip: Stitches may be random, not strictly geometric.

3. Side view. Push needle in at a low angle when inserting. Tip: Fill gaps by adding Straight Stitches to cover.

4. For subtle, extra shading work Straight Stitches on top of area already stitched. Use 1 strand of another colour.
