Bring the needle up at A and go down at B, leaving the loop of thread on the front of the work. Bring the needle partially through the fabric at A. Wrap the needle with the loop thread (doing as many wraps as equals the distance between A and B). Gently draw the needle through the twists and use it to hold the bullion against the fabric as you pull the thread through. Take the needle to the back again at B and give a firm pull to tighten the knot.
